Composters are available for purchase from the City of Hamilton by calling 905-546-CITY(2489), and a vareity of models are also available from Green Venture. Composters reduce waste and provide a soil conditioner for your lawn or garden. Carbon-rich brown material (such as dry leaves and straw) and nitrogen-rich green material (such as fresh grass, plant clippings, fruits, vegetables, tea bags and coffee grounds) can be composted. Fatty foods, meat, bones and pet wastes should not be added to composters.
